Cost of Dentures
Have you heard this one?
“Get your teeth pulled and your problems will be over!” Trust me on this one. Your troubles will just be starting cost of dentures. Your steaks may have to be put in the blender. Your ice cube crunching days may be over and your sensation of taste will be drastically reduced. Granted, there are exceptions to every rule. There are denture wearers that truly swear by their false teeth. Most people, however, swear at them, continually. They are tolerated at best, because there are few other options available.

There are specialists who make implants cost of dentures. This is a relatively new procedure whereby dentures are kind of screwed into the bone.
When they work, they’re great. They are very costly, difficult to do, and upkeep on the patient’s part is quite extensive.
The more normal, removable false teeth require quite a bit of care themselves. They must be brushed and cleaned to keep them sanitary and fresh. Bacteria and tartar can develop on dentures just as they can on natural teeth. Fortunately the denture teeth won’t rot, but they sure will stain and stink.
I’ve seen dentures so loaded with tartar, it would take a crowbar and a day and a half to properly clean them. Not only is this unsightly, but it’s an unhealthy condition. In addition to the necessity of dentures having to be brushed daily, they should be soaked frequently in any commercial denture-cleaning solution (foIlowpi4uct instructions). Special brushes and pastes are available specifically for these appliances. Denture-cleansing pastes are far too abrasive for natural teeth and should be used only on dentures.
